I have already talked about Tony’s Darts Away, but I thought that I could do multiple reviews of restaurants as I make subsequent visits. Click here to see previous posts about Tony’s Darts Away.
When looking for a low key, but fun night out with our friend Jessica before her impending move out of state, we chose to go back to Tony’s Darts Away. Like I said before, I really like the ambiance, the food options, and the staff.
We ordered Disco Fries (like Poutine fries if you have ever heard of those), Buffalo Wedges (not on the online menu), and I tried a Vegan Italian Stallion Sausage.
The Disco Fries are described as fries covered in gravy and Daiya Cheddar Cheese. I believe the Daiya that we got was Mozzarella rather than Cheddar, but I don’t think it made much of a difference. The gravy was cold and the whole thing was inedible. I won’t be ordering this side again.
The Buffalo Wedges are always winners, but then again, I love buffalo sauce. These went fast because everyone liked them.
Next was the Vegan Italian Stallion Sausage, which was a vegan Italian sausage topped with brown mustard, griddled onions, and griddled peppers. It was a little dry (I didn’t detect much mustard), but really tasty. The peppers were cooked very well. I don’t think I’m likely to want a full meal here often, but it’s good to know that there’s a solid option.
We sipped our drinks, shared some food, chatted, and played Cards Against Humanity. If you haven’t played it before and you have a bit of a sick sense of humor, it is loads of fun. It seems like something you could only play with close friends, but we have played with our parents and even Eric’s grandma, so it really just depends on the company.
It was a great way to say goodbye to our good friend Jessica. She’s on to new and exciting things!
